The Journey to Healing Program (JTHP)
Serves survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and family violence. Services are available for survivors whether they want to report to law enforcement or not.
Service Area: residents of Chippewa, Mackinac, and Luce counties, tribal and non-tribal members.
Services: Criminal justice process and victim rights information. Referrals to other programs/services and resources. Victim advocacy / accompaniment Intervention with employer, creditor, landlord, or academic institution. Transportation assistance Crisis intervention Culturally sensitive advocacy Emergency financial assistance (certain eligibility requirements). Relocation assistance Emotional support Safety planning Assistance with Personal Protection Orders Criminal and Civil Justice Advocacy.
Talking Circles & Teen Empowerment Groups are offered on a bi-weekly basis, follow Bay Mills Victim Services Facebook Page for dates and times.
Crime Victim Advocacy Program (CVAP)
Serves all victims of crime that occur on Bay Mills Trust Land. CVAP is a system-based advocacy program, the advocate takes referrals from our criminal justice department to help victims (survivors) navigate through the system. The advocate offers many direct services such as information about Victim’s Rights, accompaniment to law enforcement interviews & prosecutor meetings, help filing Personal Protection Orders, liaison between Law Enforcement dept, transportation to court proceedings and more.
